As if ooey, gooey mac ‘n cheese wasn’t decadent enough, you can thank my good friend, David Venable for adding bacon. Or “divine swine”, as he likes to call it 😉
This recipe hails from David’s new cookbook, and I just couldn’t resist sharing it with you. Featuring five different kinds of cheese (count ’em, five!), it’s called his Ultimate Macaroni and Cheese. The creamy combination includes cheddar, mozzarella, Monterey Jack, Parmesan and Velveeta, and David swoons when he says, “There’s nothing like the aroma that fills the kitchen when this dish is bubbling in the oven.”
If you’re wanting to try a mac ‘n cheese recipe that’s rich, indulgent and out of this world, then David’s Ultimate Macaroni and Cheese is for you. The recipe calls for a 4-qt. baker, but it’s fun and pretty to bake and serve in little Trellis 1-qt. bakers, too.
I like to serve it at a holiday buffet, on a cold winter’s night, as a game-day favorite or at a weekend get-together. I promise you, it’ll bring on oohs and ahhs and many requests for the recipe 😉
