What would the holidays be like without the festive flavor of gingerbread? For me, it’s a wonderful taste that brings back childhood memories of elaborate gingerbread houses and iced cookies. So I set out to create an easy homemade holiday gift recipe that incorporates gingerbread with another all-time favorite…chocolate!
Gingerbread Brownies with White Chocolate Drizzle feature semi-sweet chocolate chips in the batter, and white chocolate chips in the drizzled icing – and believe me, they are totally delicious. Make a batch in a gorgeous temp-tations® 4 quart baker, tie a big red bow around it, and voila, you’ve got one of the most perfect and personal holiday gifts you could give.
Here’s a tip to keep in mind when you shop for the ingredients – make sure your white chocolate chips have cocoa butter in the ingredient list, or they won’t melt smoothly. And if they aren’t melting smoothly, simply stir in a teaspoon of vegetable oil to remedy the problem.
To drizzle the white chocolate, melt it in the microwave and stir with a spoon until smooth. Hold the spoon straight down over the brownies (like in the photo above), allowing the melted chocolate to drip off the tip of the spoon. Move the spoon quickly back and forth over the brownies to create a thin white stripe, or more slowly to create a thicker stripe. It’s really fun to do and creates a beautiful effect!
You’ll love how these Gingerbread brownies look and taste, and you just might need to make an extra batch for yourself 😉
