Apple Pear Cranberry Crips makes a fabulous homemade holiday gift when given right in this beautiful Floral Lace Winter Oval Baker, and your gift will be remembered every time they use it! In terms of the recipe, this crisp topping is great any time of year. Use it on your berry cobblers in the summer or your stone fruit cobblers in the fall.  You can also substitute the walnuts with your favorite nuts, if desired.

Fruit filling

  • 4 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 3 Bosc pears, peeled, cored, and cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 1 1/4 cups fresh cranberries
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Crisp topping

  • ¾ cup flour
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup oats
  • ¾ cup chopped walnuts
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, cut into small pieces and chilled

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Combine all fruit filling ingredients in a large temp-tations® mixing bowl, and toss to make sure fruit is well coated.  Transfer fruit mixture to 3-quart temp-tations® baker and set aside.
  2. For the topping, combine the flour, brown sugar, oats, walnuts and salt in a temp-tations® mixing bowl. Add the cold butter, and using 2 knives or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour mixture until nice large crumbs are formed. Cover the prepared fruit mixture with the crumb topping, and bake until crisp is browned and the fruit filling is bubbly – about 1 hour.
